Not to mention financially(that's the lesser of the issues).

I love superstore. They usually have what I need, and if not they re-stock quite quickly. They also are open at customer service to hear your needs if they don't have certain items you may be looking for.

Despite those issues, it's still my store of choice because it has most things you'd expect from a large grocery chain store including, full bakery with custom cakes, produce, seafood, meat, dairy, deli, pharmacy and an optician. I recommend using their rewards pcplus program which is the only customer rewards program I like to use. Generally I'm against them as they increase expenses of the business and that expense comes out of higher prices.

I really don't appreciate the cold atmosphere where there is little to no staff on hand tending the various departments. When help is needed and you finally track down an employee they have very little to no knowledge of any products you have a question about. At times they will even make it known that they couldn't care less. At the check out your stuff is pushed through as fast as the cashier can move it where you are forced to hurriedly bag your own stuff with no help from the cashier whatsoever, even when you're the only customer in the lane. You may have 300 plus dollars of groceries lying there and she will just stand there and stare at you as you hurriedly pack up your stuff back on to your cart. This gets worse when there is a lineup behind you. My wife worked that job for a time and she explained that is what Superstore employees are trained to do!! I couldn't believe what she told me. Bottom line. Superstore couldn't care less about its customers and their needs. The plan they have is to get people into their stores where it all big and flashy inside, get them to spend as much money as possible there and push them out the door quickly. Gone are the days where shopping was actually an enjoyable experience. What a shame.

The main reason I shop here is for the lowest prices as most food items are pretty much the same quality no matter where you go.

Check the pricing tags on the shelf to compare price/100g, as sometimes different sizes will not give the price savings you expect. They do offer price matching for advertised, less expensive items, from competitors but I don't find that happens very often. You must have the flyer with the current advertised cheaper price with you to show the cashier if you want a price match. It's also worth watching for seasonal sales like blowouts on flat screen televisions.

Accessibility in terms of maneuverability in the store is great, although it is difficult to find staff who can help get items off of high shelves. Service is hit and miss. For example, in the past week alone, my husband and I experienced 3 separate negative experiences including one staff member who was cleaning and backing up. He was wearing headphones and nearly backed into my wheelchair. I had to raise my voice to say excuse me and he still didn't hear, requiring a different customer to alert him from the front. On another occasion my husband asked where an item was located and was told by a staff member "I don't have time" and became increasingly rude. Other things staff have been quite helpful.

This is about Superstore in general. Any time I go there for a few things or a regular grocery trip it makes me feel drained. In every way. Mentally, physically, emotionally....

Great store in general but it sometimes runs out of stock of popular items as the store seems to almost have a few supply issues. Management is usually pretty helpful with rain checks in those cases. The customer service is very friendly and pretty good even if you can't find help on the floor sometimes. Their weekly sales are a bit of a game as most products in the store rotate on sale and it's best to stock up on items you need till they come on sale again.

Extremely poor management, they do not care about the employees, nor do they take the time to get to know, and understand the employees. Unfortunately, they are very rude to the employees. They have neglected to give some of the new employees their employee number, and are known for firing employees one day before their probationary period has ended. The full time employees always get all of their breaks, whereas part time employees rarely get all of their breaks. Most full time employees treat part time employees horribly, and have embarrassed part time employees in front of customers, and have been caught talking about part time employees behind their backs. Some employees lack proper communication skills, nor are they friendly or approachable. They gave off a careless impression when it came to helping customers. The produce always came in frozen, or already rotten & moldy. Rarely are things fresh when delivered every morning. One of the front doors was somewhat broken, unable to close all the way, making it very cold in the store, which in turn, makes an unpleasant environment for customers. I personally will never shop here again, as I have always heard negative feedback from this place.
