The best part about the village is that they actually use and maintain the machines for demonstration! Much better then seeing them in a building behind glass.

I have always wanted to live history ever since I was a kid. I had gone here on a whim in the summer of 2017 and it was just like I remember it as a kid! I loved it so much I offered to volunteer. they put me in the printing press and I spent the day operating a 100 year old cast iron printer.

Home style Mennonite food, delicious. Great look into the past with school house, churches, machinery, etc. And you can even see how some of it works during their heritage days celebration. I was fascinated to see how they made wood planks back then.

A well run museum with replica buildings highlighting the history of the Mennonite people. It includes a huge fully functional windmill with grist mill too!

Loved the Mennonite Heritage Village!. I am from Eastern Ontario and it reminded me of Upper Canada Village. So much to see, and you can get a feeling of what it might have been like homesteading on the prairies. I loved walking around the buildings. Checking out the old school house and ducking down to get inside the peat house. ..You HAVE to climb the windmill and get a view of the whole village...and after you are done..go in to the cafeteria for a real home cooked Mennonite lunch...very good experience

The food at the Livery Barn restaurant is very good, and very reasonably priced, especially the buffet. You can get free entry to the village if you're just there for the restaurant.

I also attend a monthly liturgical choral service called Vespers (usually held between October and May), a choir with many of the top choral singers from the local area and a variety of choral directors.

It is an excellent location for fun photography (took wedding pictures here in 2002), interesting history, and during the summer there are a lot of interesting activities and demonstrations.
